Healthy hair makes a person look younger, as it's often one of the first features to show signs of aging. Nowadays, as the pollution is increasing, the hairs become dirty and entraps the dirt. The scalp produces sebum, a natural oil that keeps hair lubricated. Sometimes, overproduction of this oil lead to a greasy appearance. Also, frequently touching the hair can transfer oils and dirt from your hands. To remove the dirt and excessive oil from the hair and to ensure the healthiness of the hair, the hair needs to be washed. The hairs are washed to reduce the hair and to ensure the cleanliness of the hair.

[0003] Traditionally, the hairs are washed by user by his own hands. In this, first the user brushes the hair to remove the tangles and knots and saturates the hair by pouring water onto the hair manually. Then, the user selects the right shampoo and then rinse with hair water. For all of this, the user uses his hands to clean the hairs. Sometimes, the user took help from other person to wash the hair. Also, long-handled hair brush, wiping aid, lotion applicators are used for washing a user's hair. While the traditional method offers some benefits but they also pose several challenges and drawbacks. In case of handicapped person, the washing of hair by using the hand become difficult. Also, the devices are required to be used separately which causes inconvenience to the user.

[0004] US11419402B2 discloses about a device for head and hair washing of a user carried out by a care operator, where the operator being the same user or not, comprising: a lower bath; a cover, water feeding means, comprising at least a pipe connectable to a water source; water delivering means; water delivering adjusting means, positioned inside the volume created by the cover overlapping the lower bath, and configured so that water delivering adjusting is allowed; water discharge means, associated to the lower bath, comprising a discharge pipe connected to a hole positioned in the lower portion of said bath; the cover has three openings, two of them are arranged on opposite portions to the frontal opening and are provided in the frontal portion of the cover and the third openings is positioned in the rear or upper portion of the opening. [0019] In any embodiment described herein, the open-ended terms "comprising," "comprises," and the like (which are synonymous with "including," "having" and "characterized by") may be replaced by the respective partially closed phrases "consisting essentially of," consists essentially of," and the like or the respective closed phrases "consisting of," "consists of, the like.

[0020] As used herein, the singular forms "a," "an," and "the" designate both the singular and the plural, unless expressly stated to designate the singular only.

[0021] The present invention relates to an adaptable hair washing device which is capable of washing a user's hair by applying a compatible shampoo in automatic way in order to help in cleaning and washing the user's hair. Additionally, the proposed device provides the massaging to the user's hair for properly shampooing the user's hairs.

[0022] Referring to Figure 1 and Figure 2, an isometric view of an adaptable hair washing device and an isometric view of a fingerlike structure associated with the device are illustrated, respectively comprising a curved plate 101 suspended from ceiling of an enclosure a sensing module 102 integrated on the plate 101, a multi-sectioned chamber 103 arranged on the plate 101 and integrated with multiple electronically controlled nozzles 104, a pair of motorized grippers 105 integrated with multiple finger like structures 201 installed on the plate 101 and motorized hinges 202 integrated in the structures 201.

[0023] The proposed device comprises of a curved plate 101 developed to be suspended from ceiling of an enclosure to be utilized for bathing, in proximity to a shower. The plate 101 is casted with highly durable materials and is rigid in nature with a curved shape, offering a large space to accommodate multiple mechanical and electrical units. The plate 101 is constructed from sturdy and robust materials that may include but not limited to stainless steel, aluminum. These materials offer rigidness and robustness to the plate 101 making the plate 101 resistant to mechanical stress and pressure while the plate 101 is being suspended from ceiling of the enclosure.

[0024] The plate 101 is installed with a proximity sensor for determining distance of a user from the plate 101. The proximity sensor used herein comprises of a transducer, wherein the proximity sensor works by sending out a sound wave at a frequency above the range of human hearing. The transducer of the sensor acts both as a sound receiver and a sound emitter to receive and sends the sound wave respectively. As the transducer sends the sound wave, the wave hits the user and reflects back to the transducer. Then the proximity sensor analyses the distance of the user from the ceiling portion where the plate 101 is installed by measuring time lapses between the sending and receiving of the sound wave which is sent to an inbuilt microcontroller upon conversion in the electrical signal. The microcontroller processes the acquired signal and determines the distance of the user from the plate 101.

[0025] Upon determining the distance of the user from the plate 101, the microcontroller actuates a sensing module 102 integrated on the plate 101 for determining parameters including density and moisture level of the user's hair. The sensing module 102 includes an ultrasonic sensor and non-contact moisture sensor. The ultrasonic sensor determines the density of the user's hair. The ultrasonic sensor works by emitting ultrasonic waves and then measuring the time taken by these waves to bounce back after hitting the user's hair and includes two main parts that are a transmitter and receiver. The transmitter sends short ultrasonic pulses towards the user's hair which propagates through the air at the speed of sound and reflects back as an echo to the transmitter as the pulse hits the user's hair. The transmitter then detects the reflected echo from the scalp of the user's hair and performed the calculation based on the time interval between the sending signal and receiving echo. The determined data is sent to the microcontroller in a signal form. The microcontroller processed the acquired data and determines the density of the user's hair.

[0026] Simultaneously, the non-contact moisture sensor of the sensing module 102 determines moisture level of the user's hair. The non-contact moisture sensor works by transmitting an infrared light from an infrared light emitter integrated within the moisture sensor. It is possible to assess each wavelength reflected by pulsing light integrated inside the moisture having specific sensor at the specific wavelengths onto the user's hair and then absorbing and measuring the reflected unabsorbed light on a light-sensitive detector integrated in the moisture sensor. Then the moisture sensor determines the amount of reflected light and turn the analogue signal into an electronic signal. The electronic signal then gets transmitted to the microcontroller. Then the microcontroller processed the acquired signal by using artificial protocols and high-speed signal processing and determines the moisture level of the user's hair.

[0027] In accordance to these values, the microcontroller evaluates a shampoo compatible for washing the user's hair. The microcontroller used herein is pre-programmed in a manner to coordinate the working of the device and is equipped with artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities for operating different components in a synchronized manner. All protocols and instructions related to the functioning of the device are pre-fed within a database linked with the microcontroller. By using these pre-fed with the instructions, the moisture level and density of the user's hair, the microcontroller evaluates the shampoo compatible for washing the user's hair.

[0028] Further, a multi-sectioned chamber 103 is arranged on the plate 101 and integrated with multiple electronically controlled nozzles 104. The chamber 103 is divided into many individual chamber 103 also called section, which are stored with different shampoos. Each section of the chamber 103 is integrated with the nozzle 104 in such a manner that when the nozzle 104 is actuated by the microcontroller, dispensing of the shampoo starts. The information regarding each section stored with a particular shampoo is stored in the database of the microcontroller.

[0029] Based on the evaluated compatible shampoo, the microcontroller actuates a particular nozzle 104 to dispense the shampoo from the chamber 103 onto the user's hair. The electronic controlled nozzles 104 work by utilizing electrical energy to automize the flow of dispensing of the shampoo in a controlled flow pattern by converting the pressure energy of a fluid into kinetic energy, which increases the shampoo's velocity to dispense on the user's hair. Upon actuation of nozzle 104 by the microcontroller, an electric motor or the pump pressurizes the dispensing shampoo, increasing its pressure significantly. High pressure enables the shampoo to be dispensed out the shampoo from the chamber 103 onto the user's hair.

[0030] Furthermore, a pair of motorized grippers 105, each integrated with multiple finger like structures 201 installed on the plate 101 that are actuated by the microcontroller to provide massaging movements onto the user's scalp in view of rubbing the shampoo on the user's hair. The gripper 105 is connected to a bi-directional direct current motor that is capable of converting direct current into mechanical work by following the principle of Lorentz Law which states that, the current carrying conduction when placed in magnetic or electrical field experiences a force known as Lorentz force. Such that, the motor converts the electrical current derived from an external source into a mechanical torque for providing the required power to the grippers 105 which further provides the movement to the multiple finger like structures 201 that provides the massaging movements onto the user's scalp for rubbing the shampoo on the user's hair.

[0031] In synchronous to this, the microcontroller actuates an angle sensor integrated on the plate 101 that works in sync with the imaging unit for monitoring angle of the structures 201 with respect to the user's head. The angle sensor used herein is preferably an optical angle sensor that uses light beams and optical detectors for measuring changes in light reflection or transmission caused by the angle of the structures 201 with respect to the user's head. As the angle changes, the amount of light reflected or transmitted varies, allowing the sensor to calculate the angle. The angle sensor provides an output signal corresponding to the angle of the structures 201 with respect to the user's head. The microcontroller processed the acquired data and determines the angle of the structures 201 with respect to the user's head.

[0032] In accordance to this determined angle, the microcontroller actuates multiple motorized hinges 202 integrated in the structures 201 to provide required movements to the structures 201 for properly shampooing the user's hairs. The motorized hinge 202 joint comprises of a pair of leaf that is screwed within the surface of the structures 201. The leafs are connected with each other by means of a cylindrical member integrated with a shaft coupled with a DC (Direct Current) motor to provide required movement to the hinge. The rotation of the shaft in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction aids in opening and closing of the hinge 202 respectively.

[0033] Hence the microcontroller actuates the hinge 202 that in turn provides the required movements to the structures 201 for properly shampooing the user's hairs. Upon properly shampooing the user's hairs, the microcontroller directs the gripper 105 to turn on knob of the shower in order to allow rinsing of the user's hair. Thereby, results in cleaning and washing the user's hair.

[0034] Lastly, a battery is associated with the device to supply power to electrically powered components which are employed herein. The battery is comprised of a pair of electrodes named as a cathode and an anode. The battery uses a chemical reaction of oxidation/reduction to do work on charge and produce a voltage between their anode and cathode and thus produces electrical energy that is used to do work in the device.

[0035] The present invention works best in the following manner, where the curved plate 101 as disclosed in the invention is developed to be suspended from ceiling of the enclosure to be utilized for bathing and in proximity to the shower. Upon activating the device, the proximity sensor determines the distance of the user from the plate 101. Based on the user's distance, the microcontroller actuates the sensing module 102 that includes a non-contact moisture sensor and an ultrasonic sensor for determining parameters including density and moisture level of the user's hair. In accordance to these information, the microcontroller evaluates the shampoo compatible for washing the user's hair. Based on the evaluated compatible shampoo, the microcontroller actuates the particular nozzle 104 to dispense the shampoo from the chamber 103 onto the user's hair. upon dispensing the shampoo on the user's hair, the motorized grippers 105 integrated with multiple finger like structures 201 are actuated by the microcontroller to provide massaging movements onto the user's scalp in view of rubbing the shampoo on the user's hair. Simultaneously, the angle sensor works in sync with the imaging unit and monitors the angle of the structures 201 with respect to the user's head. According to angle of the structures 201 with respect to the user's head, the microcontroller actuates multiple motorized hinges 202 integrated in the structures 201 to provide required movements for properly shampooing the user's hairs. Upon properly shampooing the user's hairs, the microcontroller directs the gripper 105 to turn on knob of the shower in order to allow rinsing of the user's hair. Thereby, results in cleaning and washing the user's hair.

[0036] Although the field of the invention has been described herein with limited reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense.
