Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to an adaptable hair combing and lice removal device that is capable of determining density of the user's hair and accordingly comb the hair in view of removing knots and snarls and create partings and detangle hairs in an automated manner.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] People generally use to groom their hair with different hair styles in their usually lives and for maintaining those styles they use to comb their hairs efficiently. They usually use a basic hair comb for combing hair as the comb detangles the hair and assist the person in getting their desired hairstyle. However, these are not effective for certain styling needs as well as sometimes combing hairs with such hair combs causes tangling and breakage of hair. So, people use an equipment that combs hair of a person in accordance with the user-preferred hairstyle in an automated manner and reduces the chances of tangling or breakage of hair.
[0003] Conventionally, some ways were used by people for combing their hair. They usually use fine-tooth comb for combing hair as the comb is ideal for precision styling and detangling finer hair strands. However, the comb might cause breakage of hair particularly in wet hair and might not be suitable for detangling thick or curly hair. They also use hairbrush as the equipment is typically large than a comb and is used for smoothing, detangling and styling hair efficiently. But hairbrushes might not be suitable for detangling very curly or wet hair as their bristles might causes breakage of hair.
[0004] CN104665203A discloses about an invention that includes a hair combing device. The device mainly comprises a comb handle and comb teeth; the front section of the comb handle and the comb teeth are of hollow structures and interconnected; a threaded hole and a threaded aeration bag are formed in and mounted on the top part of the comb handle; pores are formed in the bottom ends of the comb teeth; the tail end of the comb handle is of a solid structure, and an inserting slot is formed in the top part of the comb handle; a blade is movably connected into the inserting slot. The hair combing device has the advantages of being reasonable in structure, convenient, practical, safe and sanitary. Although CN'203 is capable of combing user's hair, but failed in removing lice and protect the user's hair from germs and bacteria.
[0005] CN107981513A discloses about an invention that includes a hair combing device. The hair combing device comprises a carding tooth mounting head, at least two rows of combing teeth are installed on the combing tooth mounting head, anupper holding handle is arranged at one end of the combing tooth mounting head, the hair combing device further comprises a hair cleaning block closely attached to the combing tooth mounting head, the shape and size of the hair cleaning block are the same as those of the surface of the combing tooth mounting head, the hair cleaning block is provided with through holes for being matched with and running through the combing teeth, the combing teeth penetrate through the through holes in the hair cleaning block, connecting heads of which the diameter is larger than that of the through holes in the hair cleaning block are arranged at the free ends of the combing teeth, a lower holding handle is arranged at the end of the hair cleaning block, ear members are arranged at the two sides of the tailend of the upper holding handle, a rotary shaft is arranged between the ear members at the two sides, and the lower holding handle is rotatably connected to the rotary shaft between the ear members atthe two sides through the tail ends of the lower holding handle. By means of the hair combing device, through the hair cleaning block, hair left and wound on the combing teeth is cleaned away anytime, the hair cleaning block cannot shed, and the hair combing device is convenient to use and reasonable in structural design. Although CN'513 is capable of combing user's hair but failed in dispensing optimum amount hair oil in order maintain the moisture contain in the hair.
[0006] Conventionally, many devices have been developed that are capable of combing hair of a user. However, these devices are incapable of applying hair care solution while combing of the hair and fails to heal user hair problems in an efficient manner. Additionally, these existing devices also lack in eliminating germs and bacteria from the user hairs and are incapable of preventing a user's hair from harmful disease.
[0007] In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, there exists a need in the art to develop a device that provide a means for combing user hair and simultaneously apply a hair oil while combing of the hair in order to heal user hair problems in an automated manner. In addition, the developed device should also detect germs and bacteria in the user's hair and remove in view of preventing from skin disease and maintain hair healthy.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
[0009] An object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of determining density of the user's hair and accordingly comb the hair in view of removing knots and snarls and create partings and detangle hairs in an automated manner
[0010] Another object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of detecting a germs and bacteria on the user's hairs and accordingly eliminate the germs and bacteria from the user's hairs in order to clean the user's hair and maintain the hygiene in the hair.
[0011] Yet another object of the present invention is to develop a device that is capable of oiling the hair properly in order maintain the hair healthy ant attractive.
[0012] The foregoing and other objects, features, and advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0013] The present invention relates to an adaptable hair combing and lice removal device that is capable of combing user's hair in order to remove knots and snarls and create partings and detangle hairs. Additionally, the proposed device is capable of removing lice from the user hairs, thereby maintain the hairs clean and healthy.
[0014] According to an embodiment of the present invention, an adaptable hair combing and lice removal device, comprising a a body having a handle that is accessed by a user for acquiring a grip over the body, followed by a free end of the body is arranged with a rectangular member that is positioned by the user in proximity to a hairs of head portion, further multiple of pneumatic pins installed on the member and extending in downward direction in a manner to mimic shape of a hair comb, furthermore each of the pins are attached with the member via a motorized hinge joint, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit installed on the member and paired with a processor for capturing and processing multiple images of surroundings, respectively in sync with an ultrasonic sensor installed on the member to detect density of the user's hairs, in accordance to which an inbuilt microcontroller regulates extension/ retraction of the pins for facilitating the user in removing knots and snarls, create partings and detangle hairs via the pins, a moisture sensor is installed on the member for detecting moisture level of the hairs, in accordance to which the microcontroller regulates operation of the hinge joints for generating an optimum force for combing the user's hairs effectively without causing any injuries.
[0015] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the proposed device further comprises of multiple electronically controlled valves configured on tip portion of each of the pins that are actuated by the microcontroller to dispense hair-oil stored in a multi-sectioned chamber configured with the member, which is stained onto hairs of the user resulting in applying of the hair-oil along the hairs while the pins is moving along the hairs, an IR(Infrared) sensor configured on the member and synced with the imaging unit to detect presence of lice on the user's hairs, wherein in case lice is detected the microcontroller actuates an extendable horizontal flap integrated within the member, over the hairs that is actuated by the microcontroller to get extended on the hairs in order to provide a linear reciprocatory movement to the flap, resulting in removing of the detected lice from the user's hairs, a dust sensor is installed on the member for detecting the presence of dust and dandruff from the user's hairs, and upon detection of dust/ dandruffs the microcontroller actuates a vacuum based cleaning unit installed on the member for cleaning the dust/ dandruff that are further stored inside a receptacle integrated with the cleaning unit, moreover UV (Ultra-violet) sanitizing unit is configured on the member that is actuated by the microcontroller to eliminating germs and bacteria from the user hairs.

[0022] Referring to Figure 1 and Figure 2, an isometric view of an adaptable hair combing and lice removal device and a perspective view of a flap associated with the proposed device are illustrated, respectively comprising a handle 101 is fabricated on the body, a rectangular member 102 arranged with the body, pneumatic pins 103 installed on the member 102, motorized hinge joint 104 present between pins 103 and member 102, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 installed on the member 102, electronically controlled valves 106 configured on tip portion of each of the pins 103, horizontal flap 201 integrated within the member 102, cleaning unit 107 installed on the member 102, UV (Ultra-violet) sanitizing unit 108 is configured on the member 102.
[0023] The proposed device includes a body having a handle 101 that is fabricated with a cushion pad for providing comfort to the user while gripping the handle 101. Further, a free end of the body is arranged with a rectangular member 102. Wherein, the body is cast with highly durable materials and is rigid in nature with a flat rectangular shape, offering an optimum space to accommodate multiple mechanical and electrical units. The body is constructed from sturdy and robust materials that may include but not limited to plastic, wood or metal. These materials are light in weight and user friendly. That aid the user in positioning the member 102 in proximity to a hairs of head portion.
[0024] Furthermore, plurality of pneumatic pins 103 installed on the member 102 and extending in downward direction in a manner to mimic shape of a hair comb. Each of the pins 103 are attached with the member 102 via a motorized hinge joint 104 to move freely between the user's hairs.
[0025] As the user placed the member 102 in proximity to the hair, an inbuilt microcontroller activate an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 installed on the member 102 to detect density of the user's hairs. The imaging unit 105 comprises of an image capturing arrangement including a set of lenses that captures multiple images of the surroundings and the captured images are stored within a memory of the imaging unit 105 in form of an optical data. The imaging unit 105 also comprises of a processor that is integrated with artificial intelligence protocols, such that the processor processes the optical data and extracts the required data from the captured images. The extracted data is further converted into digital pulses and bits and are further transmitted to the microcontroller.
[0026] Thereafter, the microcontroller activate an ultrasonic sensor installed on the member 102 to detect density of the user's hairs. The ultrasonic sensor works by generating ultrasonic waves, wherein the waves hit the hair and are diffracted back. The diffracted waves are received by a receiver integrated within the sensor. The pattern of the received waves gets converted into an analog value which is further converted into an electrical signal, wherein the electrical signal is send to the microcontroller.
[0027] Upon receiving the signal from the imaging unit 105 and the ultrasonic sensor, the microcontroller then processes the received signal in accordance to which the microcontroller evaluates density of the user's hairs.
[0028] Based on the detected density of the hair, the microcontroller regulates extension/ retraction of the pins 103 for facilitating the user in removing knots and snarls. The extension of the pins 103 is powered by a pneumatic unit associated with the device and includes an air compressor, air cylinder, air valves 106 and piston. The air compressor used herein extract the air from surrounding and increases the pressure of the air by reducing the volume of the air. The air compressor is consist of two main parts including a motor and a pump. The motor propels the compressor pump which uses the energy from the motor drive to draw in atmospheric air and compress to elevated pressure. The compressed air is then sent through a discharge tube into the cylinder across the valve. The compressed air in the cylinder tends to pushes out the piston to extend which extends the pins 103 for facilitating the user in removing knots and snarls, create partings and detangle hairs.
[0029] Additionally, the microcontroller activate a moisture sensor is installed on the member 102 for detecting moisture level of the hairs. The moisture sensor measures the moisture content by using properties such as electrical resistance, dielectric constant or interaction with neutrons as a proxy for the moisture content. The measured data is then converted into an analogue value which is further converted into an electrical signal, wherein the electrical signal is sent to the microcontroller. Thus, the microcontroller processes the received signal and determines the moisture level of moisture in the hair.
[0030] Upon determining the moisture in the hair, the microcontroller match the determined data with pre-fed database and in case determined level of the moisture is less than the threshold, then the microcontroller actuate the hinge joint 104s for generating an optimum force for combing the user's hairs. The motorized hinge joint 104 comprises of a pair of leaf that is screwed with the surfaces of the pins 103. The leaf are connected with each other by means of a cylindrical member 102 integrated with a shaft coupled with a DC (Direct Current) motor to provide required movement to the hinge. The rotation of the shaft in clockwise and anti-clockwise aids in opening and closing of the hinge respectively. Hence the microcontroller actuates the hinge that in turn provides movement to the pins 103 for generating an optimum force for combing the user's hairs effectively without causing any injuries.
[0031] Simultaneously, the microcontroller actuate the multiple electronically controlled valves 106 configured on tip portion of each of the to dispense hair-oil stored in a multi-sectioned chamber configured with the member 102. The electronically controlled valve is used to control fluid flow by varying the size of the flow passage as directed by a signal from a controller. This enables the direct control of flow rate of hair-oil dispense over the user's hair, which is stained onto hairs of the user resulting in applying of the hair-oil along the hairs while the pins 103 is moving along the hairs.
[0032] Moreover, an IR (Infrared) sensor configured on the member 102 and synced with the imaging unit 105 to detect presence of lice on the user's hairs. The IR (infrared) sensor consists of an IR emitter and an IR receiver. The emitter emits infrared light towards the user's hair and are bounced back from the user's hair and returns to the receiver. The sensor then sends an electrical signal to the microcontroller for processing and based on which the microcontroller detects presence of lice on the user's hairs
[0033] In case lice is detected the microcontroller actuates an extendable horizontal flap 201 integrated within the member 102 to get extended on the hairs in order to provide a linear reciprocatory movement to the flap 201. The extendable flap 201 is operated by the microcontroller by employing a drawer arrangement installed within the plate. The drawer arrangement consists of multiple plates that are overlapped to each other with a sliding unit, wherein upon actuation of the drawer arrangement by the microcontroller, the motor in the sliding unit starts rotating a wheel coupled via a shaft in clockwise/anticlockwise direction providing a movement to the slider in the drawer arrangement to extend flap as per the requirement. Followed by the flap 201 operate by motorized sliding unit, that is incorporates an electric motor to drive a linear movement of the flap 201. Upon actuation of the sliding unit by the microcontroller, the motor's power is harnessed to move the slider in an automated and precise way for a smooth and controlled reciprocatory motion of the flap 201 within the member 102, in view of removing of the detected lice from the user's hairs.
[0034] Thereafter, a dust sensor is installed on the member 102 for detecting the presence of dust and dandruff from the user's hairs. The dust sensor used herein is based on an optical sensing method to detect dust. The dust sensor consists of a photo sensor and an infrared light-emitting diode (IR LED). The IR- LED emits the IR rays on the user's hairs surface and the photo-sensor receive the reflected IR LED rays from the user's hairs surface. The reflected rays are processed by the microcontroller to detect the presence of the dust and dandruff over the the user's hairs.
[0035] Based on the detected dust, the microcontroller actuates a vacuum based cleaning unit 107 installed on the member 102 for cleaning the dust/ dandruff. The cleaning unit 107 works on the principle of flow of air from area of high pressure to area of low pressure. An electric motor is attached to a fan that s pins 103 the fan at high velocities. The fast-spinning fan creates a region of low pressure inside a suction hose of the cleaning unit 107. Air, along with dust and dandruff is sucked into the suction hose because of the pressure difference between the exterior and the interior of the suction hose and thus storing the dust, and dandruff within a receptacle, thereby cleaning user's hair in order to maintain the hair heathy and dandruff free.
[0036] Additionally, UV (Ultra-violet) sanitizing unit 108 is configured on the member 102 that is actuated by the microcontroller to eliminating germs and bacteria from the user hairs. The UV (Ultraviolet) sanitizing unit 108 involves the use of UV radiation to eliminate or deactivate microorganism from user's hair. The UV (Ultraviolet) sanitizing unit 108 emits a germicidal UV (ultraviolet) radiation which has a wavelength between 200 and 280 nanometers. This range is effective in breaking the molecular bonds within the DNA or RNA of microorganism which is effective in sterilizing the surfaces of the garments by disrupting the DNA or RNA of the microorganisms/fungus present over the garments, thereby eliminating the germs and bacteria from the user hairs and preventing any fungal growth on the user's scalp.
[0037] Lastly, a battery is installed within the device which is connected to the microcontroller that supplies current to all the electrically powered components that needs an amount of electric power to perform their functions and operation in an efficient manner. The battery utilized here, is generally a dry battery which is made up of Lithium-ion material that gives the device a long-lasting as well as an efficient DC (Direct Current) current which helps every component to function properly in an efficient manner. As the device is battery operated and do not need any electrical voltage for functioning. Hence the presence of battery leads to the portability of the device i.e., user is able to place as well as moves the device from one place to another as per the requirements
[0038] The present invention work well in the following manner, where the body as disclosed in the invention is having the handle 101 that is fabricated with the cushion pad and accessed by the user for acquiring the grip over the body to position the rectangular member 102 in proximity to the hairs of head portion. Further, the artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 that is sync with an ultrasonic sensor to determine the density of the user's hairs. In accordance to which an inbuilt microcontroller regulates extension/ retraction of the pins 103 for facilitating the user in removing knots and snarls, create partings and detangle hairs via the pins 103. Followed by the moisture sensor for detecting moisture level of the hairs. Based on which the microcontroller regulates operation of the hinge joint 104s for generating an optimum force for combing the user's hairs effectively without causing any injuries. Furthermore, the multiple electronically controlled valves 106 that are actuated by the microcontroller to dispense hair-oil over the user's hair, which is stained onto hairs of the user' hair. Then, the IR(Infrared) sensor synced with the imaging unit 105 to detect presence of lice on the user's hairs, followed by in case lice is detected the microcontroller actuates an extendable horizontal flap 201 that is actuated by the microcontroller to get extended on the hairs in order to provide the linear reciprocatory movement to the flap 201, resulting in removing of the detected lice from the user's hairs. Moreover, the dust sensor detecting the presence of dust and dandruff from the user's hairs. Upon detection of dust/ dandruffs the microcontroller actuates the vacuum based cleaning unit 107 for cleaning the dust/ dandruff and stored inside the receptacle integrated with the cleaning unit 107. Then, the UV (Ultra-violet) sanitizing unit 108 is configured on the member 102 that is actuated by the microcontroller to eliminating germs and bacteria from the user hairs.
[0039] In an alternate embodiment of the present invention may comprises of display panel to display hair condition of the user. The display panel is arranged on the body in the form of an electric signal for displaying the determined hair condition of the user. The touch interactive display panel as mentioned herein is typically an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen that presents output in a visible form. The screen is equipped with touch-sensitive technology, allowing the user to interact directly with the display using their fingers. A touch controller IC (Integrated Circuit) is responsible for processing the analog signals generated when the user inputs details regarding user's hair. A touch controller is typically connected to the microcontroller through various interfaces which may include but are not limited to SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) or I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit).

Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to individuals skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. , Claims:1) An adaptable hair combing and lice removal device, comprising:
i) a body having a handle 101 that is accessed by a user for acquiring a grip over said body, wherein a free end of said body is arranged with a rectangular member 102 that is positioned by said user in proximity to a hairs of head portion;
ii) plurality of pneumatic pins 103 installed on said member 102 and extending in downward direction in a manner to mimic shape of a hair comb, wherein each of said pins 103 are attached with said member 102 via a motorized hinge joint 104;
iii) an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 installed on said member 102 and paired with a processor for capturing and processing multiple images of surroundings, respectively in sync with an ultrasonic sensor installed on said member 102 to detect density of said user's hairs, in accordance to which an inbuilt microcontroller regulates extension/ retraction of said pins 103 for facilitating said user in removing knots and snarls, create partings and detangle hairs via said pins 103;
iv) multiple electronically controlled valves 106 configured on tip portion of each of said pins 103 that are actuated by said microcontroller to dispense hair-oil stored in a multi-sectioned chamber configured with said member 102, which is stained onto hairs of said user resulting in applying of said hair-oil along said hairs while said pins 103 is moving along said hairs; and
v) an IR (Infrared) sensor configured on said member 102 and synced with said imaging unit 105 to detect presence of lice on said user's hairs, wherein in case lice is detected said microcontroller actuates an extendable horizontal flap 201 integrated within said member 102, over said hairs that is actuated by said microcontroller to get extended on said hairs in order to provide a linear reciprocatory movement to said flap 201, resulting in removing of said detected lice from said user's hairs.
vi) a dust sensor is installed on said member 102 for detecting said presence of dust and dandruff from said user's hairs, and upon detection of dust/ dandruffs said microcontroller actuates a vacuum based cleaning unit 107 installed on said member 102 for cleaning said dust/ dandruff that are further stored inside a receptacle integrated with said cleaning unit 107.
2) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a cushion pad is fabricated on said handle 101 for providing comfort to said user while gripping said handle 101.
3) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a moisture sensor is installed on said member 102 for detecting moisture level of said hairs, in accordance to which said microcontroller regulates operation of said hinge joint 104s for generating an optimum force for combing said user's hairs effectively without causing any injuries.
4) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein UV (Ultra-violet) sanitizing unit 108 is configured on said member 102 that is actuated by said microcontroller to eliminating germs and bacteria from said user hairs.
5) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said pneumatic pins 103 are powered by a pneumatic unit that includes an air compressor, air cylinder, air valves 106 and piston which works in collaboration to aid in extension and retraction of said pins 103.
6) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a battery is associated with said device that is utilized for powering up electrical and electronically operated components associated with said device.
