Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to rubber compounding for tire manufacturing and, more particularly, to a novel rubber vulcanization accelerator composition and method for improving cure characteristics of reclaimed rubber (RR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and natural rubber (NR) blends.
BACKGROUND

[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] Traditional rubber vulcanization processes often employ accelerators like 2-Mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT) and 2-2'-Dithiobis(benzothiazole) (MBT , Claims:WE CLAIM:
1. An accelerator composition for rubber vulcanization, comprising:
2-2'-Dithiobis(benzothiazole) (MBTS) at a concentration of 1.5 phr;
N-tert-butyl-2-benzothiazole sulfenamide (TBBS) at a concentration of 0.75 phr; and
N-Cyclohexyl-2-benzothiazole sulfenamide (CBS) at a concentration of 0.75 phr.

2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, further comprising Zinc Oxide and Stearic Acid as activators.

3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the composition is optimized for use in reclaimed rubber (RR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and natural rubber (NR) blends for tire manufacturing.
