A SYSTEM FOR HANGING CLOTHES
TECHNICAL FIELD
The field of invention is from laundry care, specifically on air-drying solutions that maximize space, enhance fabric protection, and provide better stability for hanging clothes. This aims to improve upon traditional clothes pins by offering a better way to secure garments on drying lines or stands. It tackles challenges like heavy winds, fabric damage, wrinkling, and inefficient space usage.
BACKGROUND
Air-drying garments is a common practice for laundry, particularly in regions with high energy costs or where outdoor drying is prevalent. However, traditional clothes pins often come with several drawbacks. The individual pins hold garments at specific points, which can damage delicate fabrics, leaving noticeable pinching marks that may require some treatments to fix. These pins can also fail in windy conditions, causing clothes to fall to the ground, which can lead to dirt or contamination, creating further inconvenience for users. Additionally, using multiple pins to hang clothes one by one is inefficient, especially when dealing with large loads of laundry in homes or commercial settings like laundromats where managing a high volume of garments and linens is necessary.
Current drying solutions also lack the versatility to adjust grip strength based on the type of fabric being dried. Delicate materials, such as silk or lace, need a lighter grip to prevent damage, while heavier fabrics like denim or towels may require a firmer hold to avoid slippage.
Moreover, traditional clothespins raise environmental concerns due to their short lifespan and the use of non-recyclable materials, particularly plastic versions. Once they break, they are usually thrown away, contributing to plastic waste, which is a significant issue for environmental sustainability.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The primary objective is to offer a comprehensive solution to the drying challenges. It is designed to securely hold multiple garments in a single clip, it maximizes space efficiency while protecting fabrics from damage.
Another objective is the adjustable tightness feature that allows users to modify the grip based on the fabric type, providing gentle care for delicate materials and a stronger hold for heavier items.
Yet another objective is to improve the air-drying process, making it more secure, efficient, and environmentally friendly, thereby meeting the needs of both the residential and commercial laundry environments.
Yet another objective is that the use of ecofriendly materials used in its construction provide a sustainable alternative to plastic clothespins, contributing to waste reduction.
SUMMARY
The various embodiments of the present invention discloses laundry drying technology, offering a more efficient, secure, and fabric-friendly option compared to traditional clothes pins. This includes a dual locking mechanism that keeps garments rigidly attached to drying lines or stands, even in windy conditions, preventing them from falling and avoiding the challenge of dealing with dirty or soiled clothes. This design allows multiple clothes to be hung on a single clip, maximizing drying space and enhancing efficiency, particularly in areas with limited room or high laundry demands.
One of the main features of this invention is its adjustable tightness mechanism, which lets users to adjust the grip strength to suit different fabric types. The design constitutes of wood pieces, hooks, nuts and bolts. It can be hung in a clothesline or a drying stand and a user can hang the clothes in between the wood pieces and can tighten the woods with the nut and bolt.
The detailed description of our invention is that it is a solution designed to enhance traditional air - drying methods by providing an efficient, secure, and space saving way to hang multiple garments. By combining eco-friendly materials with a versatile, durable design, this system meets the needs of both household and commercial users. It is to address common issues associated with air-drying, such as fabric wrinkling, heavy winds, and limited drying space. This system consists of four main components: parallel wood pieces, hooks, bolts, and nuts, each contributing to the overall functionality and stability of the clip.
This system allows users to hang clothes securely on a drying line or stand, maintaining fabric quality and enhancing drying efficiency. By adjusting the tension and grip strength, it can accommodate various fabric types, making it ideal for delicate garments and heavy clothing alike.
The system's wood pieces serve as the primary structure, holding garments in place while allowing air circulation for efficient drying. These pieces are generally rectangular, providing a broad, flat surface that distributes pressure evenly across garments, minimizing the risk of wrinkling. By positioning two wood pieces in parallel, the system allows clothing to be held securely, reducing the chance of slipping or bunching. The rectangular shape ensures maximum garment coverage and contributes to the system's capacity to hold multiple items at once.
The wood can be hardwood, chosen for its durability, resilience, and resistance to outdoor conditions. Options include sustainable hardwood or treated wood, which can withstand the elements, including sun and moisture. Treated wood, with finishes such as UV protection, varnishes, or water-repellent coatings, extends the life of the wood and keeps it resistant to cracking or fading. The wood's natural texture is gentle on fabrics, making it suitable for a wide range of materials, from delicate silks to heavy cottons.
The length of the wood pieces determines the number of garments the clip can hold at once. Longer wood pieces are especially beneficial in commercial settings, allowing for efficient use of drying space by accommodating multiple garments without overcrowding of the clothes. Finishes can include stains to match décor, sealants for durability, or oil coatings to protect against sun damage. By providing an even, stable surface, the wood pieces also prevent the garments from shifting during drying, which reduces the likelihood of wrinkles.
To enhance functionality, wood pieces can be manufactured in various lengths and thicknesses, accommodating different drying spaces. For example, smaller clips are ideal for limited spaces like balconies, while larger clips can be used in spacious drying areas or commercial laundries. The wood can also be coated with UV protection oil, tarnish, or a sealant to enhance its longevity in outdoor conditions, preventing sun damage and maintaining its strength over time.
The hooks play a critical role in attaching the system to the drying line or stand. They are round or semi-circular, allowing them to grip various support surfaces like rods, wires, or bars securely. This shape offers flexibility, enabling the hook to wrap around different structures while maintaining a strong connection. The hooks can be circular or semicircular, depending on the specific drying setup, ensuring compatibility with different thicknesses and types of drying surfaces. A locking feature on some hooks prevents sliding, which is particularly useful in windy conditions.
Typically made from steel, the hooks are designed for strength and durability. Steel is resistant to wear and corrosion, making it ideal for outdoor use. For additional protection, the hooks can be coated with a galvanized or stainless finish, which prevents rust and degradation from prolonged exposure to moisture and sunlight. This durability makes the system suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, catering to various user needs.
Coatings and treatments like galvanization or powder-coating that can prevent rust and increase the longevity of the hooks. Some hooks feature a locking mechanism that provides additional security, especially in windy conditions. This locking feature prevents the clip from sliding or being dislodged, offering peace of mind to users in areas prone to high winds. The locking hooks can adjust to fit different thicknesses of lines or rods, making them versatile and adaptable to various drying setups.
The hooks can be of different size and shape to suit different drying environments. For instance, larger hooks can be used in commercial settings where drying lines are thicker, while smaller hooks can be employed in home laundry spaces with thin wires. This flexibility makes the system adaptable to diverse requirements across different settings. Smaller hooks might work well for household use, while larger, sturdier hooks would suit commercial setups. With each hooks tailored to specific drying setups, such as balcony rods or standalone drying racks.
The bolts are hexagonally shaped fasteners that connect the wood pieces and hooks, holding the entire structure together. The hexagonal design is practical, as it allows users to adjust the bolts using common tools such as a wrench. This feature provides adjustability, enabling users to control the tension between the wood pieces for a customized grip on garments.
Bolts in this system are made from metals like brass, aluminum, or copper, which are chosen for their strength, rust resistance, and suitability for outdoor use. These metals are durable, and when used with weather-resistant coatings, they remain functional even under prolonged exposure to the elements. The materials prevent rust and degradation, ensuring a stable and long-lasting assembly.
One of the unique aspects of the bolt mechanism is its ability to provide adjustable tension. By tightening or loosening the bolts, users can control the grip strength of the clip on the garments, making it suitable for various fabric types. For delicate fabrics, users can loosen the bolts to reduce pressure, while for heavier garments, the bolts can be tightened to ensure a firm hold. The use of paint, anodizing, or powder-coating to protect bolts from corrosion and environmental wear, ensuring long-term reliability.
Bolts are easily accessible and replaceable, allowing users to maintain the system with minimal effort. If any bolt requires replacement, it can be readily sourced and fitted with standard tools. This modular approach enhances the system's lifespan and makes it easy to repair or modify if necessary. the adjustable bolts make the system versatile, allowing users to adapt the clip's grip strength depending on the garment type.
The nuts are threaded to match the bolts, enabling them to securely hold the system's components together. Positioned on the opposite side of the bolt head, each nut ensures that the wood pieces and hooks remain tightly fastened, contributing to the system's stability. The nuts are easily adjustable and require minimal maintenance. This allows users to quickly adjust the clip's grip without needing specialized tools, making the system accessible and user-friendly for both household and commercial applications. Like bolts, nuts are typically made from metals such as brass, aluminum, or copper, chosen for their durability and resistance to environmental degradation. The use of coatings or paints that protect nuts from rusting due to long-term exposure to moisture, ensuring the system remains secure over time. Nuts allow users to control the grip strength by adjusting the distance between the wood pieces. This adjustability is crucial for different fabric types, preventing damage to delicate items while ensuring a firm hold for heavier garments.
The system's ability to hold multiple garments in a single clip optimizes drying space. This feature is particularly useful in households with limited drying areas and commercial setups that handle large volumes of laundry. The even pressure distribution across the wood pieces prevents wrinkling and pinching marks. This design minimizes fabric damage, reducing the need for ironing or other post-drying treatments. The hooks' locking mechanism and the adjustable tension ensure that clothes stay securely in place, even during windy conditions. This feature adds reliability to outdoor drying.
The use of sustainable materials like wood and recyclable metals, which contribute to the system's durability and reduce reliance on single-use plastics. Wood pieces can be customized in length and thickness to suit different drying spaces, from small balconies to large laundry facilities. Various finishes such as tarnish, UV-protection oil, or weather-resistant varnish enhance durability and aesthetics.
Hooks can be designed in multiple shapes to suit different drying lines and surfaces. Circular and semicircular options ensure compatibility with various household and industrial drying systems. Nuts and bolts can be made from metals like brass and copper, with coatings to protect against corrosion.
