Specification

Description:TITLE: A PORTABLE POTHOLE REPAIR SYSTEM.
The present invention generally relates to a system for repair of potholes on road surface. In particular, the present invention provides a portable pothole repair system that is capable of treating, repairing potholes and being lifted and placed on a vehicle bed.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In every pliable road there arises the need to address problems associated with formation of pothole which are developed overtime. Pothole forms in road in sequence of steps beginning with rain seeping into the road and collecting underneath the road surface. In the weaker portions of the road the collected water reduces bearing capacity of the road surface. When the vehicles ply over such weaker sections cracks begin and eventually depressions form on the surface of the road thus creating potholes. Potholes impacts the cost of maintenance of vehicle due to wear and tear resulting from plying on such uneven road surfaces. Furthermore, potholes also results in number of accidents and injuries due to loss of control of vehicle from passing over pothole. Particularly in developing countries the potholes result in number of deaths. Thus, there is an urgent and greater need for equipment for quick pothole repair. The equipment needs to be efficient and require shorter turnaround time in repairing the potholes.
Conventional pothole repair machines are specialised machines that are large machines with complex parts. Conventional pothole repair machines being large and cumbersome are unserviceable in case of narrower roads and crowded spaces. The specialised pothole repair machines being an integral part of the vehicle structure is dependent on the vehicle in order to reach the repair location. Thus, in case of evolving technology the specialised pothole repair machine is held to the older in-efficient vehicle type due to the integration of the pothole repair systems being physically locked with the vehicle frame. Furthermore, in the specialised pothole repair vehicle renders as unusable if a mechanical issue arises in its transport system even though its pothole repair system is without any technical issue. In such case the the pothole repair system has to halt operations until repair is conducted on the mechanical issues of the vehicle system. Moreover, there is significant wastage of technical manpower material and resources in manufacturing such specialised vehicles.
There is a need for a pothole repair system that is in no way dependent on the vehicle power plant for its power and mechanical needs. There is a need for a pothole repair system which is portable and can be easily removed from one vehicle bed to another vehicle bed. There is a need for a pothole repair system that is capable of fitting on a small commercial vehicle bed. There is also a need for a pothole repair system with as smaller footprint on the road so that such system is capable to servicing smaller lanes, and crowded places. Thus, reducing traffic congestion due to blocking of a complete lane of a road. There is a need for a pothole repair system that eliminates the large fleet of equipment such as material carrying trucks, road rollers and heavy manpower. The present invention addresses and overcomes the abovementioned problems and provides a portable pothole repair system that is capable of being placed on small vehicle bed.
