Abstract

ABSTRACT The present invention provides a system and method which the test a person's attitude by making him respond to 10 multiple choice questions based on ten situations as life problems. This is a type of situation reaction test. Each question carries an equal mark of one point. A point earned is measured as 10% of a positive attitude. A point lost is calculated as 10 % of negative attitude. Suppose a person attempts all the questions correctly. In that case, s/he may earn 10 points, contributing to bearing a 100 % positive attitude, and earning zero points will result in a negative attitude, which is generally rare. The attitude may be positive or negative or in a proportion of positive and negative depending upon the number of points earned or lost.

The following specification particularly describes the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

A Newly Developed Scale for Evaluating Individual Attitudes

Field of Invention:
The present invention relates to system and method for a unique test exploring the attitudes of individuals through an innovative questionnaire.
Background of the Invention.
The following background discussion includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication expressly or implicitly referenced is prior art.
Psychological tools called aptitude tests are used to gauge people's thoughts, feelings, and inclinations toward particular topics, things, or circumstances. These assessments are essential in many fields, such as social science, education, healthcare, and market research, since they reveal the underlying attitudes that shape behaviour and judgment. The adaptability of these assessments to different fields is a testament to their value, helping educators modify their methods, businesses comprehend customer preferences, and governments ascertain public opinion on essential problems. Attitude tests continue to be valuable instruments for understanding the complexity of human attitudes despite obstacles, including social desirability bias and cultural differences. This helps to inform and improve practices in a variety of sectors. There are number documents which have tried to solve this problem. For example, WO2007062034A2 discloses an apparatus for explicit and implicit attitude reaction monitoring on mobile computing devices and a method of operating such devices for interacting with a user and for guiding a behaviour of the user. The method comprising presenting the user with a series of tasks, each task requiring at least one response from the user and receiving the responses to the tasks from the user. The method further comprising, determining as a function of the received responses, one or more differences in the explicit and implicit attitudes of the user towards performing an intended behaviour, and delivering at least one message to the user, as a result of the differences in attitude, so as to guide the user to perform the intended behaviour.
Further, CN115116132A discloses a human behavior analysis method for deep perception in an Internet of things edge service environment, which comprises the following steps: s1, preprocessing the image; s2, extracting posture points, and extracting key points of human bones; s3, pre-screening the human body gestures based on the confidence of the gesture points; s4, determining a human body deflection angle according to an asymmetric relation obtained by the depth information of the posture points on the two sides of the human body, and correcting the two-dimensional coordinate information of the human body posture points according to the deflection angle to obtain the two-dimensional coordinate information of the front human body posture points; s5, constructing a skeleton behavior recognition model based on the LSTM network, processing the human body joint data sequence in the appointed stage by adopting the skeleton behavior recognition model, and performing recognition analysis on the abnormal behaviors contained in the human body joint data sequence. The invention can ensure the real-time performance and the accuracy of the detection result.
In another documents, CN114756121A discloses a virtual reality interactive emotion detection and regulation system based on a brain-computer interface, which comprises: the stimulation module is used for transmitting stimulation information, and playing audio and video expressing different emotions and the action of the virtual human through a video or three-dimensional scene to mobilize the emotion of the user; the feedback module is used for transmitting a result processed by the feedback data processing module and helping a user to adjust real-time emotion; the data acquisition module is used for acquiring and recording electroencephalogram signals of a user; and the data processing module is used for processing the electroencephalogram signals and comprises marking states of the electroencephalogram data, segmenting the data, extracting features, calculating a classifier model and generating a corresponding feedback command. The invention solves the problems that the existing electroencephalogram emotion detection system is single in feedback form and cannot realize interaction, combines a brain-computer interface technology with a virtual reality technology, creates an interactive emotion detection and regulation system based on a virtual human, realizes emotion detection and emotion regulation, and has good use experience.
The present invention provides a unique test exploring the attitudes of individuals through an innovative questionnaire.

Applications of Attitude Tests of the present invention:

There are many uses for attitude tests in different fields:
1. Education: Teachers use attitude assessments to assess students' attitudes toward subjects, pedagogies, and school environments. This aids them in customising their teaching strategies to enhance student learning.

2. Market research: Companies use attitude surveys to determine people's thoughts about their brands, products, or advertising campaigns. This knowledge is essential for developing new products and marketing plans.

3. Healthcare: Attitude tests can evaluate patients' attitudes regarding available treatments, impacting treatment outcomes and adherence to medical guidance.

4. Social Research: Researchers employ attitude tests to learn more about the public's perceptions of social issues like gender roles, political beliefs, or environmental concerns. They can use this information to inform policy decisions and better understand societal trends.

5. Human Resources: Aptitude exams are used in office settings to gauge employee sentiments regarding diversity initiatives, company culture, and job satisfaction. These evaluations can raise employee involvement and improve management procedures.

Challenges and Limitations
Although attitude tests offer insightful information, they have specific difficulties and restrictions.

1. Social Desirability Bias: Rather than giving honest answers, respondents may provide responses they think will be accepted by society, which might produce unreliable results.

2. Response Bias: Questions can be presented in an unbalanced order or with different wording, affecting respondents' responses.

3. Attitude Complexity: Attitudes have many facets and are subject to change. It can be challenging to fully capture the complexity of a person's attitude in a single test.
4. Cultural Differences: Tests created in one context might not apply to another without appropriate adjustments because cultural conventions shape attitudes.

Conclusion
Attitude assessments are effective instruments for comprehending the underlying emotions and ideas that influence people's actions. They are extensively employed in many fields, including social science, marketing, healthcare, and education. To get a more thorough assessment, it's essential to be aware of their limitations and combine them with other techniques. We can obtain essential knowledge that supports wise choices and fruitful results in several domains through meticulous development and analysis of attitude assessments.

Appropriate Answers
Q1. The train catches fire immediately after you get on the train; what will you do?
(e) Extinguish the fire as it was due to the fag-end of a cigarette
Interpretation: One should not overthink about the situation. Why should you think that it was a big fire? There was debris of some paper and wrappers near the door, and somebody threw a fag end of a cigarette. The debris ignited and burned when the train started due to favourable air inside. You can extinguish it with anything. There is no need to pull the alarm chain.

Q2. You are boating in the river with your spouse, mother, and sister. After some time, while you are along with the stream, the boat suddenly drowns. You are only a swimmer, but nobody else along with you whom do you save first:
(d) whom so ever you see first
Interpretation: In such a situation, the heuristic approach is practically applied. You will automatically save the one you see first.

Q3. You are a soldier fully equipped with the latest arms and ammunition. You are to reach a point within half an hour's distance through a jungle. While you are en route, you come across a lion lying on your path. What will you do?
(c) Wait for some time, as you don't know if it is alive
Interpretation: After a few minutes of waiting, you can sense if the lion is alive or dead by observing its respiratory pattern, and then you can apply your discretion to follow the path or change it.

Q4. You may see a man by car visiting a damsel standing at the house's gate, stretching her arms up. Could you guess who might be the person
(e) a passerby
Interpretation: On what ground can you develop a relationship? Her house is on the road, which may be a highway passing through the house. Due to the geographical formation of the location, the car appears to approach the house like other vehicles and passersby, and it will pass over.

5. You are going to your office by car while you are away. You hit a bicycler in the market area; what will you do?
(e) say sorry as he was okay.
Interpretation: Hitting does not always result in a fatal accident or injury to another person. It may be a gentle touch, and the person fell due to a slight jerk in his bicycle. He stood up and was physically fit to go with his bicycle again.

6. Some children are playing in the field. There is also a well on the playground. The playground is located in the centre of the village. While you are passing by the playground, you hear a sound as if something is thrown into the well, and at the same time, children are making a ho-ho sound. You suspected one of them to have fallen into the well. What would you do?
(e) Examine if a stone is thrown into the well and the children are still playing.
Interpretation: You should conclude only in the light of facts about a particular event.

7. You and your subordinates are in a departmental coordination meeting chaired by your boss. At some point in time, while the meeting is on, your boss blows his top on you. What would be your reaction?
(b) Remain silent
Interpretation: In such circumstances, one should remain silent. If you react, you will have to face your boss's ire, as it is said that the boss is always right. Sometime soon, you can communicate your concerns.

8. Your house is at arm's length from an intermediate school in your locality. After school time out, five students abused and beat a student in junior class while they were on their way home. You are standing at the gate on the road. What would be your action?
(b) step in and tell them to go home when they start acting menacing.
Interpretation: One should not allow such skirmishing amongst school-going students. Nowadays, it's a common phenomenon. As a civilised resident, you must intervene in such a situation, make them understand, and ask them to go home.

9. You will attend the final round of interviews to negotiate your salary for the post of project manager in XYZ Company at a given time. You are to reach the company's head office within half an hour's distance by your car. While you are rushing to your destination, you find an older woman suddenly appearing in front of your vehicle, and she gets injured. What would you do?
(a) You are on your way to the office as she was okay to walk on her own with no injuries
Interpretation: She suddenly appeared in front of your vehicle and was injured, but not by your car. You should get out of your vehicle and look up at her. You may find her physically alright with light injuries. She can walk on her own to her destination.

10. You are on your way home from the office in the evening. On the way, you come across a female student who some people tease. What would you do?
(a) The girl was okay with them as they were her siblings/cousins
Interpretation: You need not do anything as they were siblings/cousins below ten years of age.
