Abstract
ABSTRACT A method (100) for synthesizing silver-doped cobalt ferrite nanoparticles using a sol-gel process, the method (100) comprising preparing a homogeneous precursor solution by dissolving cobalt, iron, and silver salts in a suitable solvent. Further, adjusting the pH of the solution to a predefined level to facilitate hydrolysis. Further, heating and continuously stirring the solution to initiate the formation of a sol, comprising a colloidal suspension. Further, increasing the temperature gradually to induce auto-combustion of the gel, thereby yielding a powder product, Further, allowing the product to cool and then extracting the powder from the reaction vessel, and subjecting the extracted powder to calcination in an oven at a temperature ranging from 600°C to 1000°C to remove moisture and achieve nano-powder of silver-doped cobalt ferrite.

Description:FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] This invention generally relates to a field of anti-bacterial nanoparticles and in particular relates to a method for synthesizing silver-doped cobalt ferrite nanoparticles using a sol-gel process.
BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] The advancement of nanotechnology has significantly impacted various fields, including electronics, magnetics, and biomedicine. Among the wide range of nanomaterials, magnetic nanoparticles such as cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) have garnered a , Claims:1. A method (100) for synthesizing silver-doped cobalt ferrite nanoparticles using a sol-gel process, the method comprising:
preparing a homogeneous precursor solution by dissolving cobalt, iron, and silver salts in a suitable solvent, at step 102;
adjusting the pH of the solution to a predefined level to facilitate hydrolysis, at step 104;
heating and continuously stirring the solution to initiate the formation of a sol, comprising a colloidal suspension, at step 106;
increasing the temperature gradually to induce auto-combustion of the gel, thereby yielding a powder product, at step 108;
allowing the product to cool and then extracting the powder from the reaction vessel, at step 110; and
subjecting the extracted powder to calcination in an oven at a temperature ranging from 600°C to 1000°C to remove moisture and achieve nano-powder of silver-doped cobalt ferrite, at step 112.
2. The method (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by using X-ray diffraction
