Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method for sustainable recovery of bio-oil from Delonix regia seed pods involving preparation of raw materials, preparation of a phase change material from pre-processed feedstock and procured polymer and obtaining the bio-oil. The raw materials are obtained by preprocessing the Delonix regia seed pods to obtain feedstock, procuring a polymer for pyrolysis, deriving a catalyst from automobile spent catalytic converter for pyrolysis. Phase change material is obtained by heating the pre-processed Delonix regia feedstock to obtain a biochar, heating the polymer to obtain molten pyrolyzed plastic followed by sonicating and magnetically stirring the biochar and the molten plastic to obtain biochar-based phase change material. Followed by pyrolyzing electrically the pre-processed feedstock and polymer utilizing the derived catalyst, and the phase change material and obtaining the bio-oil.

Specification

Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
The present disclosure relates to the field of renewable energy. Particularly, the present disclosure relates to production of bio-oil from Delonix regia seed pods biomass. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a method for a sustainable recovery of bio-oil from Delonix regia seed pods.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Renewable energy, an alternative source, has gained attention due to declining fossil fuel reserves and environmental concerns. Various generations of biofuels have had a positive impact on the transportation sector. Biomass, a renewable feedstock, plays a crucial role in producing cost-effective and eco-friendly fuel-grade chemicals and precursors for specialty-grade chemicals. Progress in biomass and oil production methods has facilitated biofuel development. The two main routes for this process are thermochemical and biological conversion, which generate biofuels in solid, liquid (bio-oil), and gas forms from biomass. These biofuels can be used as fuel and as a s , C , Claims:WE CLAIM:

1. A method for sustainable recovery of bio-oil from Delonix regia seed pods, the method comprising the steps of:
I) preparing raw materials, wherein the preparation comprises the steps of:
a) preprocessing Delonix regia seed pods to obtain feedstock for pyrolysis comprising:
i. extracting seed pods from the Delonix fruit;
ii. drying the extracted seed pod in sunlight;
iii. grading the dried seed pods;
iv. crushing the graded seed pods;
v. grinding the crushed seed pods to obtain the feedstock for pyrolysis; and
vi. selecting and storing the ground seed pods;

b) procuring a polymer for pyrolysis; and

c) deriving a catalyst from automobile spent catalytic converter for pyrolysis comprising:
i. de-canning a spent catalytic converters;
ii. separating a substrate from the de-canned spent catalytic converters;
iii. calcinating the substrate by removing the deposited carbon; and
iv. deriving the catalyst;

II) preparing a phase change material from pre-processed feedstock and procured polymer, wherein
